138 Processing Unconventional Crudes / Alternative Fuels

Tuesday, April 2, 2019: 3:45 PM - 5:15 PM
Magazine (Hilton New Orleans Riverside)

Description:
This session will provide a forum for the discussion of unconventional heavy crude oil supplies and alternative fuels. This will include their specific challenges, and their impact on the operation and design of crude handling and storage facilities and downstream processing units. Despite the lower crude oil prices and the related uncertainty in the oil industry, unconventional and alternative fuels are expected to keep their place in the long term strategy of many oil exploration and processing companies. Due to their sometimes difficult and variable properties, unconventional and alternative fuels present unique challenges for recovery, storage, transportation, and downstream processing.
