This presentation presents the process used to incorporate Process Safety into an existing chemical plant's plan for response to high hazard weather events, specifically a high water event. The process is presented in the following steps:
  • the identification and validation of existing threats and associated data
  • the identification of vulnerable assets, processes and their associated failure consequences
  • the identification of preventive and mitigative actions and their effective timing
  • a hazard assessment of proposed preventive and mitigative actions
  • the inclusion of proposed actions into existing response plans
