Green Oil Removal from Ethylene Plant Backend Hydrogenation Unit

Abstract:

Proprietary Gas/Liquid Coalescer With Surface Treated Media Cartridges developed, tested, and installed downstream of an Acetylene Hydrogenation Reactor is found to match the removal performance of the Green Oil Wash Absorber; thus, eliminates the need to use recycle wash ethylene solvent stream.

Replacing the Green Oil Wash Absorber with a two-stage Proprietary Gas/Liquid Coalescer System results in increasing ethylene plant production by 5-10% and corresponding increase in plant profitability.
