174 Processing Unconventional Crudes II
174 Processing Unconventional Crudes II
Wednesday, March 29, 2017: 10:15 AM - 11:45 AM
304C (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center)
Description:
Despite the lower crude oil prices and the related uncertainty in the oil industry, unconventional heavy crude oil recovery is expected to keep its place in the long term strategy of many oil exploration and processing companies. As a consequence, the industry will have to focus on the challenges that come with the processing of heavy crude oils. Due to their properties and variance of these properties over time, unconventional oils are an interesting challenge for recovery, storage, transportation and downstream processing. This session aims at providing a forum for all interested parties to discuss unconventional heavy crude oil supplies and their specific challenges as well as the impact of unconventional heavy crude oils on the operation and design of crude handling and storage facilities and downstream processing units.
