Adsorbent technologies have been used in the midstream industry for contaminant purification from natural gas. Molecular sieves are the product of choice for the deep dehydration required by Liquefied Natural Gas and midstream facilities. Also, adsorbents can remove other impurities such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans, and mercury. There are different mechanisms for adsorption, some of which are regenerable and some are not. Advances in adsorbents provides a technology overview and high level guidelines to design, operation, and troubleshooting.
