The Podbielniak® Centrifugal - Applications in Centrifugation

Through continuing research and laboratory testing, the Podbielniak® Centrifugal, widely known as the Pod, has proven itself time and time again over broadly differing process applications. Some of the most renowned applications for the Pod include the streamlining of the penicillin production process, the extraction and concentration of metal ions, as well as many applications in the chemical, petroleum and other industries are described herein along with a case in point to accompany each application. Though there is no new research presented here, recent testing has brought about a shift toward new research of solid phase separation applications to improve upon existing applications. After nearly a century, the Pod continues to have unrealized potential.

A brief discussion of operational theory is also provided in simple form to acquaint the reader with the operational value of the Pod Centrifuge in industry.
