This session is devoted to technology transfer from R&D to commercial manufacturing, including case studies and best practices, both conventional and novel. Topics include staffing and roles to insure effective knowledge transmission, getting early feedback on design and operability of proposed new systems by linking R&D / process and project engineering / manufacturing operations. Also includes safeguarding, optimization and control (learning from lab and pilot experience), and development of effective operating procedures and data monitoring and management.
