This presentation will cover some of the key aspects of developing a successful startup based on the experience of two of the cofounders of DexMat. DexMat is a Houston-based company that is commercializing conductive carbon nanotube (CNT) technology for aerospace wire and cable applications. The company was founded in early 2015. DexMat was a finalist in the Rice Business Plan Competition and has secured SBIR funding from the Air Force to make lightweight cables for spacecraft. Topics that will be covered during the presentation include intellectual property management, fundraising, manufacturing scale-up, and developing corporate partnerships.
