Multi-Point Ground Flare Fields are a critical component of Ethylene Production facilities, as they are the final emergency safety feature of the plant. Keeping personnel a safe distance from harmful radiation and deadly species concentrations is integral to the operation of these fields, and this is a primary concern in the design phase. Through Computational Fluid Dynamics, different flare tips can be compared in geometrically-detailed models that yield detailed estimates. Incident radiation and plume extents can be estimated for any operating case. Differing flare tip designs are validated against physical test data to ensure accuracy.
