Efficient design for collection of waste and effluent treatment is major challenge in EPC industry today. In this paper two cases of integration of waste water collection & treatment system are discussed. In first case, Power plant is considered and in other case LNG plant is taken. The sizing of waste water system and treatment of the effluents for zero waste discharge are compared for both of the cases. This paper throws light on significant savings by rightly sizing the collection and treatment system which majorly includes sumps, sump pumps, oil water separator, equalization tank, clarified water tank, and clarifier based on the intermittent and continuous waste from the plant. The flow sheets have been designed for power plant as well as LNG plant for integrated waste water collection & treatment system for zero waste discharge liquid plant. All the discharges like oil, waste water and chemicals are treated effectively and can be regenerated to use in the same plant. It is not only cost effective but also environment friendly.
