Ability to model overall process is important to managing process development, from bench to pilot plant, and continuing to commerical implementation.   Combination of modeling and simulation skills with process economics enables multiple options to be rapidly screened, while parameter needs for simulation help frame and extrapolate across multiple scales of study and depolyment.   Ability to move from simulation to lab or pilot is an enabling skill for Process Development career.
