A summary of recent additions to Texas Engineering Rules, including the requirement for a one-time fingerprinting and criminal background check for all engineers.

Discuss the criteria for ethical decision-making as well as the specific ethical considerations mentioned in the Engineering Rules - to protect the public’s health, welfare and property. 

Address other aspects of employer/ employee principles or values that are important in the engineering profession, such as 

  • conflict of interest, 

  • confidential and /or proprietary information, 

  • gifts and entertainment, 

  • bribes and kickbacks and 

  • relationship with clients.

    The presentation will include case studies and illustrative examples for discussion and an opportunity for questions.
