In this study, removal of arsenic from water was intended with using nano-structured calcium silicate as an adsorbent which was produced from rice hull ash.
For calcium silicate, two different production methods, which are calcium silicate produced in the presence of water and spacer (diethylene glycol), were performed. Arsenic removal efficincies were compared and nano-structured calcium silicate which was produced in the presence of spacer compound was choosen according to the experimental arsenic removal results.
The study covers the determination of the effect of time, pH, different arsenic concentrations and adsorbent quantities to obtain the optimum conditions for arsenic removal with nano-structured calcium silicate.
