Sustainability Key Performance Indicators

Sustainability and climatle action require data and metrics to successfully measure performance towards goals and targets.  The City of Austin has been pursuing climate action goals since 2007 and city-wide sustainabiltiy metrics since 2010.  This presentation will explore sustainability and climate metrics, data collection, analysis, management, reporting, and successfully using this information to drive performance and change.  With 4-5 years of data from city operations, which include 250 buildigs, 12,000 employees, 5,000 vehicles, a municipally owned water and power utility, as well as community wide sustainability outcomes, the amount of data and opportunities to communicate data are immense.
