Considerations for Effective Ground Flare Application in Ethylene Plants

As ground flares have recently become much more common in ethylene plants, there are key parameters to be considered to ensure success in the execution of designs and subsequent operation of initial applications.   The paper will provide an overview of ethylene plant ground flare installations and the considerations needing to be addressed relating to both design specifications and operational aspects.   The author will draw on designs, operating experiences and shop/field testing to highlight key success factors and considerations.
