The executive responsible for sustainability within an organization often serves in the role of management consultant, coach and advocate for sustainability practices throughout the organization. While many may find their influence limited to responding to sustainability questionnaires, others are gaining traction infiltrating sustainability into the myriad aspects of business planning. In many cases the bright line between a sustainabilit-driven activity, and general business practice is dimming. Drawing on case studies this talk will examine examples where sustainability practices are mainstreaming...and why. Examples will include corporate activities around water stewardship, product innovation, and supply chain management.
