396952 Process Safety in Gas/Oil Transport Implementing Best-in-Class Procedure Management Practices - a Case Study
Our client, a leader in the safe delivery of energy, faced an all too common problem when looking at how to improve their process safety program for the transport of gas and oil, their desire was to move well beyond simply meeting regulatory compliance with traditional procedure management to a more proactive and collaborative solution that would improve operator safety and performance.
With operator requirements such as finding the procedure they need, ensuring it’s the latest version, that it is accurate, with consistent format and wording, our client set out to find a complete procedure management system to support not only the operators safe working environment but also to support the authoring such that through significant reuse of common content, all required procedures are captured and maintained.
Innovatia’s Procedure Accelerator was chosen to help them reach their objectives. Innovatia delivers performance support solutions (content development, training services and technology) for the energy sector. Innovatia’s information architect service helped develop procedural best practices. Procedure Accelerator was chosen as the technology. Procedure Accelerator provides complete procedure management to optimize authoring and operator performance. Simplifying authoring and review; integrated training; accident prevention support features; and management of change notification for an unprecedented level of accuracy to avoid incident.
During this talk, we will discuss our approach to developing a best-practice procedure library with the right classification system to support control center operations for the transport of oil and gas. Demonstrate the ease with which the system can be used and updated. Share the challenges and key learning’s of the implementation, and the outcomes of the project.
