Wednesday, April 2, 2014: 9:00 AM
Grand Salon 24 (Hilton New Orleans Riverside)
Tom Enright, Scale-up Engineering, Xerox Research Center of Canada, Mississauga, ON, Canada

For many years, Xerox Corporation has used Lean Six Sigma and Design for Lean Six Sigma approaches for problem solving, product development, and process development. For the uninitiated, the different approaches and sea of acronyms can be daunting (e.g., DMAIC, DMEDI, IDOV, etc.), and it can be difficult to know which approach is most suitable for a given problem. There are commonalities between the different methods, but also subtle differences that make each approach useful for different types of projects. This talk will give an overview of the different methodologies along with a description of the responsibilities of Black Belts and Green Belts within each stream. Example projects will also be presented to compare and contrast the different methodologies.
