Xerox Corporation has five North American manufacturing sites that produce toner/developer materials for a wide variety of devices. For many years, each site worked independently and there was no formal mechanism for sharing best practices, successes, and failures. There were attempts over the years of developing some type of information sharing network, but a sustainable process never really took hold for a number of reasons. It was recently decided to make another attempt at developing a formal Continuous Improvement Network through a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt project with team members from each of the manufacturing units. This talk will give an overview of steps that were taken in the project to formulate a robust information sharing network that has checks and balances included to ensure that the network will last in the long term.
