Management of Change or lack thereof has been cited in many industrial accident investigation reports as a contributing factor to the cause of those accidents. Shell considers Management of Change to be a critical business control process and require that all businesses within Shell implement a Management of Change process. This paper will discuss how Shell Exploration and Production Company, SEPCo, implemented their Management of Change process and the steps associated with that process. This paper will also discuss what types of activities are covered by the Management of Change process. Lastly, this paper will look at the implementation challenges, lessons learned, key success factors, and Key Performance Indicators associated with Management of Change.
