Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) is to Process Safety what Personal Protective Equipment is to Personal Safety.  Often, the PSSR is the last line of defense to ensure that a change or other major plant activity has not introduced an unintended or unmitigated risk.  The principles behind the PSSR process are straightforward.  The actual PSSR effort is basic and logical.  And everyone says they do them and that they are easy.  Is there data to support these statements?  In this presentation, not only will PSSR best practices be reviewed but common PSSR weaknesses and improvement opportunities will be exposed along with suggested remedies and solutions.
