98 Applying LOPA in Practice: Consideration of Conditional Modifiers, Initiating Events and IPLs II
Wednesday, May 1, 2013: 8:00 AM
River Level 001A (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center)
Description:
LOPA is a simplified risk analysis methodology commonly used to evaluate process risk. Basic LOPA is an increasingly attractive risk assessment technique, with its conservative assumptions, ease of use, and semi-quantitative results. Improvements and refinements to the original approach have occurred in recent years, permitting the technique to be applied on a broad scale with greater resolution. This session welcomes papers on the practical application of LOPA methodology with respect to Conditional Modifiers/Enabling Conditions, Initiating events, and Independent Protection Layers. This can involve initial and revalidation PHA work, corporate risk programs, or any other practical application.
