100 Implementing Process Safety in Project Design

Wednesday, May 1, 2013: 8:00 AM
River Level 001B (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center)
Description:
There are many opportunities in capital projects to improve life-cycle process safety performance. These opportunities start in early conceptual design and continue through final decommissioning. This session seeks papers demonstrating the practice of building process safety across project timelines to improve process safety performance, lower project cost, and reduce risk by avoiding costly re-engineering at later stages in the operational period. Papers illustrating examples of good (and not so good) results of managing capital processes and how to better direct internal and external engineering resources are encouraged.
