Description:
Chemical engineers increasingly require rigorous process simulation to design, optimize, and plan chemical processes and facilities. Process simulation education is limited in undergraduate programs; however, many entry-level engineers in industry are expected to use software tools to prepare projects and reports. Before we jump in as young professionals, it is important to emphasize the software selection process and to recognize the limitations of the software that is being used. Additionally, the software is only as good as the user inputs. Finally, no software output should replace your engineering judgment. With this underlying philosophy in mind, “Simulate This! The Art & Science of Process Simulation” will take you on a journey of basic training, career opportunities, and opportunities within AICHE with regards to computer modeling and simulation.
