20 What Operating Managers Need to Know about Process Safety I
Monday, April 29, 2013: 1:30 PM
Street Level 103B (Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center)
Description:
The goal of a process safety program is to ensure that process facilities are operated safely. Managers at the local level with responsibilities for operations play a vital role in the success of the process safety program for an organization. While an understanding of the overall PSM program is needed, some details are more important and require attention and tracking. This session will seek papers which address key aspects critical to a successful site process safety program. This session will strive to provide guidance on topics including: 1) the key success factors for a well-functioning process safety program and how to tell if the program is ‘working’, 2) aspects of process safety which need the most attention and resources from operating managers, and 3) methods to effectively communicate the most important aspects of process safety to operating managers, front line supervisors and hands-on employees.
