Membrane type cargo containment system has been evolved in terms of sloshing resistance and low boil off aspect. Membrane type cargo containment system, so called Smart containment system Advanced, has been developed by Samsung Heavy Industries to achieve less barred range of filling and lower boil off rate. 

Smart containment system Advanced can achieve less barred range of filling 15% to 70% of tank height and lower boil off rate, 0.12 % /day. It has been verified and approved by LR and ABS and now ready for real LNG carrier application.  This paper discusses features of Smart containment system Advanced.
