In times with increasing oil prices it becomes very attractive to consider alternative sources than crude oil for transportation fuel. The Topsoe Improved Gasoline (TIGASTM) technology is designed to produce high quality and valuable gasoline from natural gas, shale gas, coal, petcoke or biomass.

The process converts natural gas to gasoline, and the gasoline product properties are such that it can readily be used as a drop-in fuel or used as a perfect blend stock in the gasoline pool. Plant capacities can range from as small as 1,500 bbl/d to above 30,000 bbl/d and can easily be matched to the available gas resources.

A 23 bbl/d TIGASTM demonstration plant, DOE-funded project, will start-up early 2013. Data and results from the initial operation will be presented.
