Efficient management of water and wastewater systems in large industrial complexes is important for minimizing costs and optimizing natural resources.  This paper provides an overview of methods used to analyze water use efficiency such as water pinch analysis and water cascade analysis as well as other visual techniques.  Discussion will also include techniques for water recovery and recycle such as zero liquid discharge and an explanation of when recycling makes sense and when it doesn’t.
