In 2012 SGC Energia commissioned, started up, and operated a pilot scale Fischer-Tropsch process for the demonstration step of the XTLH solution in Pasadena, TX. This plant was used to confirm design plans for future larger scale projects as well as to gather additional data. Running a Fischer-Tropsch reactor at a nominal capacity of 1 BPD, SGC Energia gained valuable information from lessons learned and the challenges of the start-up process. Upon the conclusion of the successful run, this moveable skid is being relocated to provide future operator training for a commercial unit. This commercial plant will be located in the Gulf area.

SGC Energia has operated different FT reactor technologies at a 1BPD level, plus others on a smaller scale. Commercial sized samples have been produced from these operations. Currently the SGCE Fischer-Tropsch reactor choice greatly reduces the risk involved, making the system more robust; and therefore more equipped for commercialization.
