Description:
Process emergency relief system is often the last line of protection against a process overpressure when other control mechanisms have failed. An effective pressure relief system is highly complex and takes into consideration various aspects in the design, such as analysis of individual equipment relief and networked equipment relief, liquid handling capabilities of the vent disposal system, stress (dynamic, static, and thermal) analysis of structural systems, potential for run-away reactions, etc. These complex relief system issues require practical, cost effective and novel solutions which include a combination of different technologies as well as innovative thinking. Papers related to best practices, advances in emergency relief system technology, or novel solutions to relief system problems are invited from industry, consulting, as well as academia.
