As product demands change throughout the world there is an emerging need for conversion of residues to high-value products, especially diesel fuel.  Processes such as Delayed Coking and Ebullated Bed Hydrocracking have limitations resulting in moderate liquid yields and high production of either coke or a residue fuel oil as byproducts.
