Also known as Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Functional Security allows us to deal with the "highest risk" inherent in a particular process and has been an important advance in both the methodology, as in philosophy for dealing with technological risk. The proper functioning of a safety system not only depends on the hardware and the software itself, but also how the project is developed. That is, specification, design, construction, operation and maintenance. No matter how good the products are designed for safety. Little can do if not used correctly. The development in the company of "Safety Culture" is a key event for the sustainability of business.
