  • Rather than capture CO2 for sequestration, a number of process concepts have been proposed over the last several decades to recycle CO2 to liquid fuels. This presentation will examine the thermodynamics and energy balances for CO2 recycle schemes, and review some of the current approaches under investigation for this potential solution to energy supply and distribution in a carbon-constrained world. The presentation will focus upon direct use of renewable energy to recycle CO2, vs. biofuels.
