Particle Design: Formation and Processing (TWb)

#153 - Electrostatic Effects in Particle Processing - I (TWB15)
The session invites papers on electrostatics in particle processing including both productive and destructive effects of electrostatics. Papers may discuss materials characterization and other means to assist in the detection and control of electrostatic charges on particles as well as the mitigation and prevention of electrostatic charge generation in process equipment. Of special interest is the effect of environmental parameters on particle and surface charging, including terrestrial and extra-terrestrial environments. Relevant work my describe the development of embedded electrostatic sensors in process equipment, the study of the electrostatic interactions of dust and granular particles under various flow regimes, breakdown discharges at different atmospheric pressures and fundamental research work in the physics of charge exchange and triboelectricity.
