| #168 - Nanoparticle Processes in Emission Control and Clean Energy (TWB14) | |||
| This session invites papers that address the use of nanoparticle technology in cross-disciplinary research related to emission control and clean energy. Research disciplines may include (but are not limited to) materials science, aerosol and particle technology, catalysis, chemical and mechanical engineering as well as emission control engineering. Fundamental and applied research is invited regarding nanoparticle synthesis, deposition, reactivity, heat and mass transfer processes and effects thereupon of particle size distribution and morphology with emphasis on applications and phenomena relevant for emission control and clean energy. In addition to experimental work, papers on modeling and simulation are also welcomed, especially addressing the multiscale nature of these applications. Representative but not limiting examples are: • nanoparticle processes for manufacturing, modification and functionalization of porous substrates e.g. with catalyst coatings (including nanostructured washcoats and/or noble metals) • filtration and catalytic treatment of nanoparticle emissions and other gaseous pollutants such as CO, hydrocarbons and NOx from Diesel and other advanced combustion processes. • on-board and off-board exhaust sensors exploiting nanoparticle technologies • novel reforming and water-splitting reactors for hydrogen production based on nanoparticle-materials | |||
