Particulate Handling/Processing and Granular Systems (TWc)

#85 - Slow-Shearing Moving/Packed Bed Flows I (TWC06)
The main thrust of this session is the study of slow moving (shearing) flows of dry powders where friction between particles is the main interaction and where the presence of any fluid (including air) can be neglected. Both a continuum and a granular-type approach will be presented: all integrated into a general framework of flow-regimes in powder mechanics. Flow in hoppers, bins, mixers and simple shearing flows will all be considered.
