424 Microbial Pathway Engineering

Wednesday, November 18, 2020: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Food, Pharmaceutical & Bioengineering Division (15) (PreRecorded+)

Description:
Metabolic engineering is the targeted improvement of the cellular metabolic phenotype using recombinant DNA technology. This session emphasizes pathway-level engineering for the production of fuels, commodities, and other bulk chemicals. Example areas include: strategies to enhance the production of biofuels and biopolymer building blocks, pathway engineering for the utilization of novel feedstocks, and the application of evolutionary techniques for improving production of a metabolite. This session will focus on new developments in these topics and the talks are open to any type of microbial organism, microbial consortium, or cell-free system.
