Description:
This session will include papers on materials and processes for water purification and desalination enabled by electrochemistry, membrane separation, adsorption, evaporation, and/or microorganisms. Water contaminants of interest include but are not limited to, nutrients, heavy metals, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), and microcystins. Studies looking into various aspects of water desalination such as the use of renewable energy, brine management, and process energy integration are of interest.
