251 Materials for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Environment

Tuesday, November 17, 2020: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Materials Engineering and Sciences Division (08) (PreRecorded+)

Description:
This session will address emerging topics of sustainable and renewable energy production and storage with an eye towards the environment. The session seeks to provide a general overview of recent advances in new design concepts and material platforms, including synthesis and fabrication techniques of a wide range of materials and promising applications enabled by these new developments. Areas of application range from solar cells, battery technology, thermoelectrics, CO2 reduction, water splitting etc. Materials span nanomaterials, thin films, bulk powders and various approaches of synthesis of these materials and fabrication of working devices. The session invites experimental, theory, and simulation studies ranging from the molecular level to the system level with a focus on novel materials.
