81 Emerging Applications in Synthetic Biology in Health and Medicine

Monday, November 14, 2016: 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Continental 4 (Hilton San Francisco Union Square)
Description:
Synthetic Biology is built on the concept of interchangeable parts that can be pieced together to facilitate devices and organisms with new functions. As the breadth and sophistication of the underlying biological parts and the toolkits used to build them expand, so has the potential for more impactful applications. In this session, we will highlight applications in advanced by synthetic biology, including chemical synthesis, biomedical technology, and other creative avenues for which synthetic biology offers a unique solution to a relevant societal problem. Speakers from both academia and industry are encouraged to present in this session.
