This panel forum is to graduate students to learn about chemical process and product careers and make individual choice over academic vs. industry. The panelists are from a diverse background covering both academia and industry careers at different stages. The following key questions will be discussed.
1. What is a typical career track of an academic career in chemical process and product research? What does a day look like?
2. What is a typical career track/choices of an industrial career in chemical process and product R&D? What does a day look like there?
3. Skill sets required by both academic and industry career?
4. Should I consider academic or industry? What are the key factors one should consider in making that choice?
