Abstract
Dy3+ and Eu3+ doped the borate glasses samples containing Ag nanoparticles were prepared using a conventional melt-quenching method. The synthesized materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and their morphology and sized distributions were determined. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra as well as UV-Vis absorbance were also analyzed and show the presence of the rare-earth in the matrix. The thermoluminescence (TL) response of Dy3+ doped lithium borate glasses irradiated with ultraviolet (UV) radiation was studied in detail before and after doping with silver.
