Andrographis paniculata (AP) is commonly known as King of Bitters and widely cultivated in tropical areas of Southeast Asia. This work was carried out to develop an efficient processing method of AP standardised extract to retain high quality of biomarker especially in large scale. Response surface methodology (RSM) was selected in designing better processing condition . Conferring to the laboratory preparation, the optimum condition of AP extract were 50:1 (ml:g) for ratio solid to solvent with particles size less than 1.20 mm and 25 minutes for extraction process to completed. It is evident that fractionation of AP extract did not contribute to the enhancement of scavenging activity as the crude extract of AP showed at lowest value of IC50. Thus, fractionation improved the anti-inflammatory activities for the plant fractions. As a result, the best fit model that represents the scaling-up extraction of AP is Sherwood number. In this work, the Sherwood number for AP is 2.03 in lab scale, while 5.17 for pilot scale. The verification of the models was done at production scale and some of the parameters were adjusted to obtain the same dimensionless number.
