Medicinal plants are the richest bio-resource for nutraceuticals, food supplements, and pharmaceutical activities. However, extraction of the bioactive plant constituents in large scale has always been challenging task. This work was undertaken to up-scaling of laboratory findings for the preparation of standardised extract of Orthosiphon stamineus (OS). Orthosiphon stamineus (OS) is widely cultivated in tropical areas of Southeast Asia as traditional folk in herbal medicine. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to develop a processing method for Orthosiphon stamineus in pilot scale .Qualitative and quantitative evaluation was carried out and the suitable condition for solid-liquid extraction of OS for solvent approach were 60°C with ratio solvent to solid of 10:1 (ml:g), and 2.52 hours of extraction time, respectively. However, extraction of OS by aqueous approach were 81.50°C with ratio of solvent 8.9:1 (ml:g), and 3 hours of extraction time. Anti-inflammatory activity was carried out during fractionation and revealed high activity was detected at 40% EtOH fractionation. Interestingly, at 80% EtOH of fractionation exhibited the highest radical scavenging activity but less anti-inflammatory activity. The results indicate that the establishment of marker compounds for fingerprinting of the fine herbal extract will further add-on value to the herbal derived products.
