271 Biocatalysis and Biosynthesis I: Techniques

Tuesday, November 10, 2015: 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM
150D/E (Salt Palace Convention Center)

Description:
This session focuses on the development of new techniques in biocatalysis and biosynthesis of small molecules, including fine chemicals, natural products, and biofuels. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to: (1) Discovery, characterization, and engineering of enzyme reactions and biosynthetic pathways; (2) Rational and combinatorial manipulation of biosynthetic pathways; (3) Development of activity screening methods and assays; and, (4) Engineering of enzyme spatial assembly. Topics that cover the metabolic engineering of primary metabolites are better suited in the metabolic engineering sections.
