389 Chemical Engineering Advances in Energy Production and Conversion

Tuesday, November 10, 2015: 3:15 PM - 5:45 PM
250B (Salt Palace Convention Center)

Description:
Chemical engineering plays a role in many areas of the commercial nuclear fuel cycle. The cycle includes mining, enrichment, and fuel fabrication at the front-end, reactor operations, and finally treatment of the spent reactor fuel for either disposal or recycle. This session is seeking papers that discuss the role of chemical processing in all segments of nuclear energy production including: solvent extraction, water treatment, off-gas capture, precipitation, pyrochemical processing, and heat transfer.
