577 Challenges in Small-Scale Synthesis - Pilot Plants

Wednesday, November 11, 2015: 3:15 PM - 5:45 PM
Salon I (Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek)

Description:
Pilot Plants and Kilo-labs are fundamental to R&D and supply chains. Case studies and examples of scale-up or scale-down challenges and how they were solved are of particular interest. These may include new reactor designs, continuous processing, mixing, crystallization, filtration, and drying challenges. In addition, examples of process modeling or methods to gain better process understanding of kilo-lab and pilot plant operations are encouraged. Examples of process intensification and/or case studies applying the principles of Green chemistry and Engineering to scale-up will also be considered.
