613 Sustainable Biorefineries for Municipal Solid Waste Conversion to Renewable Fuels and Chemicals

Wednesday, November 11, 2015: 3:15 PM - 5:45 PM
257B (Salt Palace Convention Center)

Description:
This session will serve as a forum for research on the utilization of municipal solid wastes as substrates for the generation of renewable fuels and chemicals with the goal of contributing to sustainable solid waste management – reduction of landfill disposal via sustainable recycling and reuse applications. Presentations on biological, biochemical, chemical, or thermochemical technologies for waste-to-energy or chemicals conversion are invited. Other topics of interest in this session include techno-economic and life cycle analyses of waste-to-energy, chemicals, or materials conversion technologies.
