Crystallization from solution is a major separation and purification processes used in the chemical , pharmaceutical and food industry.  Recent years have seen major advances in our understanding of the crystallization process through improvements in instrumentation and through molecular modeling studies.  This lecture will discuss the current state of the art as well as a future research directions.
