The current study presents the co-pyrolysis characteristics of rice husk and different kinds of ammonium salts in a fixed bed reactor respectively. Urea, ammonium acetate, ammonium sulfate and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate were selected as ammonia source. The results indicated that the impregnation of urea and ammonium acetate could improve the yield of liquid products and deduce the yield of solid, while the impregnation of the other two kinds of ammonium salts antipodal effects. The introduction of ammonium salts reduced the content of carbonyl compounds and produced some new nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds with high value and stability in the liquid products. When ammonium sulfate and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate were impregnated, the liquid products had relatively few types of compounds and mainly contained levoglucosan and furfural. Meanwhile, the effects of ammonium salts on the gas and solid products were investigated.
